Brandon
7 years old, 35 pounds
Gentle charmer
Brandon is a new arrival from a shelter in Puerto Rico where he had spent his entire life. In 2010, he was left in a box outside the shelter. Believed to be barely 3 months old, one of his hind legs was totally destroyed and in order to save it, he had to have it bandaged for over 3 months, going to the vet twice a week. The shelter told us that one of their volunteers at the time fell in love with him and used to be his foster. She would take him to the vet, put sunglasses on him, and take him for walks. But sadly this volunteer passed away of brain cancer without seeing her biggest wish come true: Brandon finding a home. All of his best buds travelled to the US in search of a forever home, but he had been waiting all this time. When we met him during our shelter rebuild in Puerto Rico, we knew he deserved to come to Portland to be a forever dog. Now in a foster home where he’s proving the sweetest, easiest guy who doesn’t let his bum foot or blindness in one eye stop him from getting around, Brandon enjoys short walks and plays the most gentle game of fetch you’ll ever see. A lover of cuddles, he prefers to spend most of his days being lazy on the couch. This mellow dude is potty trained and gets along with other dogs, but likely wouldn’t enjoy sharing a home with a young, energetic dog. Brandon is truly one of the sweetest and happiest pups now that he’s enjoying the good life and will make a wonderful companion in a quiet home.
