Male Australian Cattle Dog Mix

[typing into his journal] “March 23, 2020 – National Puppy Day… Headed to Portland and I think the life saved today will be my own”

Doogie Howser arrived in our care after being labeled as “unwanted” at our partner shelter in Texas; this boy asks for nothing but some love and attention. He’s a young pup who parties hard, takes a power nap, and then repeats the cycle. A roly poly kid often found flopped on his back for belly rubs or somersaulting into a wrestling match. Doogie is currently in foster with his sister Dr Quinn, an adult foster brother, and adult humans. There are no kids or cats in the home, but he was said to be good with cats in Texas. Doogie does not yet understand walking on lead, but enthusiastically romps about the yard. He is improving with house-training having accidents typical of his young age and already learning to notify at the door to go out for #2 (whaddagoodboi). Doogie does well overnight sleeping in his crate, as well as during nap breaks throughout the day. Doogie is a typical puppy — wide-eyed and bushy-tailed ready to make a great addition for any patient and active home ready to provide the positive-reinforcement training and continued socialization that young dogs of this age need.
