The sweetest deer, er… dog

Hope has been with us since March and though we like to see dogs adopted in less time, the silver lining is that 3 months in and now we know what a perfect angel we have on our hands, she just needed some time to settle in. After surviving Hurricane Harvey and traveling all the way to Texas with a leg that had been broken and is now a permanent kickstand, Hope is smart, sweet, playful, and doesn’t let that leg slow her down in the least. A lover of children and other dogs, Hope would love an active home where a companion is around more often than not. Potty trained and perfectly behaved when left home alone even out of a crate (which was making her uncomfortable due to accommodating the leg) Hope’s one Achilles heel is leash reactivity/barrier frustration — she sees another dog and just wants to play, so the leash frustrates her. But given wide open spaces (like 1000 Acres Dog Park) and every dog and human Hope encounters is a friend, not to mention she’s developed awesome recall and is a joy to have around.
