Shay

Sweet Shay. This 2-3 year old Black Mouth Cur was brought to Portland from a high kill shelter in Southern California. She is shy at first but warms up quickly, ESPECIALLY off leash with other dogs. She loves playing and leaps like a gazelle over her dog friends, but takes correction nicely when her energy is too much for them. She is good in the car, quiet, and seemingly house trained.

Shay is currently being fostered with a cat and is doing well with him and settles nicely once inside, but will need an adventure buddy who likes hiking and walking as much as snuggling. At only 35lbs. Shay is much smaller than she looks in person and seems to be smarter than most humans, as is typical of the breed. She would love a job to do and an owner who can keep up with her.
