Age: 2.5 years
Weight: 53 lbs
Breed Stated on Paperwork: Mixed Breed
Dogs: In foster with another similarly-sized dog and doing great with them; has lived in the past with small dogs
Kids: Has lived in foster with two children previously (ages 9 & 11); best suited for older/dog-savvy kids due to his excitability
In a Nutshell: Since joining us in Portland Yams has impressed us with being the best of the both worlds: he’s got all the fun of puppy playfulness coupled with the ease of a dog who is already housetrained, has good manners around the house, and who rests on his own when tuckered out – described by his foster guardian as a “a great mix of energy spurts and lazy bones.” Yams loves his people (and his snacks!) which make him seem like a good candidate for training. Yams shares well with other dogs and we’ve witnessed him take cues from his canine bro in his foster home. This guy is a ton of fun and will make the perfect addition to a PNW family – we can’t wait to see him continue to flourish!
