Become an OTAT PDX Member

By becoming a monthly member for as little as $10 per month, you sign up to help save medically-urgent dogs. Dogs who otherwise wouldn’t make it out of the shelter — like Taro here.

Taro was neutered in Texas — where he was rescued by our sister organization, OTAT West Texas — but he chewed his sutures out during the flight to Portland. Taro arrived to us bloody and in so much pain he couldn't even sit down. He was in desperate need of urgent medical care. 

"It takes a village" could not have been more true for sweet Taro. Our friends at Sadie Veterinary Urgent Care were able to see Taro right away. Then, MedVet Vancouver took him overnight in their emergency room to address his wound and provide IV antibiotics.

Within 48 hours, Taro was home with his foster, Jessica. Jessica's dedication to Taro was unmatched, and with daily wound dressings, over three weeks in a cone, a groom from our friends at Rose City Dogs, and lots of love, Taro is the healthy, happy big baby he was destined to be.   

His unexpected medical care was over $5,000. But because of the support from our members, we say 'yes' to more dogs every year, knowing we can commit to them for life. 

While saving lives is sweet enough, our members receive a special gift at sign up, access to our private community Facebook group for resources, updates and additional support, a monthly newsletter, early access to special event ticket sales, and invites to private members-only events.
