By becoming a monthly member, for as little as $10 per month, you can save medically-urgent dogs like Taro and dogs who otherwise wouldn’t make it out of the shelter.

Taro, who was first welcomed by our sister organization, OTAT West Texas, chewed his sutures out during his rescue flight to Portland. He arrived bloody and in so much pain he couldn't even sit down. He was in desperate need of urgent medical care. 

It takes a village was never more true than for sweet Taro. Our friends at Sadie Veterinary Urgent Care were able to see Taro right away. Then, MedVet Vancouver took him overnight in their emergency room to address his wound and provide IV fluids and antibiotics.

Within 48 hours, Taro was improving at home with his foster, Jessica, whose dedication was unmatched. After daily wound dressings, more than 3 weeks in a cone, a groom from our friends at Rose City Dogs, and lots of love, Taro is now the healthy, happy big baby he was destined to be.    

His unexpected urgent medical care came to $4,482.48. Because of our members, we were able to say Yes to whatever Taro needed in order to be safe, healthy, and out of pain.
