415,000 animals died in shelters across the United States in 2023.
At One Tail at a Time PDX, we’re committed to lowering euthanasia rates nationwide through advocacy, humane education, and directly pulling at-risk dogs out of shelters. Please join us in our first annual Sit for Shelter Pets, being held both to raise awareness of the ongoing shelter crisis and also collect donations so that more lives can be saved.
On Sunday, June 30th at 11AM PST we will host a sit with all of us quietly reflecting for ten minutes. We’ll share stories of dogs we’ve loved and lost, celebrate the pups in our lives now, and dream together about the ones we have not yet reached. Fundraisers are invited to complete their sit with us either in person, or virtually via livestream, or at a time and place of your choosing. Our Adoption Center will open at 10AM on the 30th with coffee and snacks; all are welcome (including friendly, vaccinated dogs).
We also invite Fundraisers to sit with us in another way: by sharing your stories of why shelter animals matter to you on your own personal fundraising page. You can even start a team with your friends and fundraise together!
